Flight Protection terms & conditions

Last updated 15 October 2026
Flight cancelled? Flight Protection lets you choose an alternative flight at no extra cost, or take an instant refund. It is included free on eligible domestic bookings. These are the terms it works under — including the cases it does not cover.

Eligible routes

Flight Protection applies to domestic routes only — flights that depart from and arrive in India. International bookings are not covered: for those, cancellations and alternatives follow the airline's own policy, and our team will still guide you through the options available.

What is covered

Your booking qualifies for Flight Protection when the disruption is one of the following:
  • Airline-initiated cancellations: your flight is cancelled by the airline.
  • Airline-caused disruptions: any disruption caused by the airline that affects your confirmed journey.
  • Operational, crew or technical issues: cancellations arising from airline operational issues, crew shortages or any technical problems.
  • Eligible disruptions: disruptions covered under the Namasteudan Flight Protection policy.
  • Alternative flight or refund: if your booking qualifies for coverage, you can choose an available alternative flight at no additional cost or receive an instant refund, subject to these terms and conditions.

What is not covered

Flight Protection does not apply to the following:
  • Large-scale operational cancellations: mass cancellations arising from large-scale operational disruptions, such as those experienced by IndiGo recently.
  • Pandemic-related disruptions: cancellations or disruptions caused by a pandemic.
  • Airline insolvency or bankruptcy: cancellations resulting from the airline's insolvency or bankruptcy.
  • Events beyond the airline's control: cancellations caused by adverse weather conditions, Air Traffic Control (ATC) restrictions or other circumstances beyond the airline's control.
  • Missed flights: missed flights resulting from late check-in or late arrival at the airport.
  • Passenger-initiated changes: flight changes or cancellations requested by the passenger.
  • Large-scale delays and disruptions: large-scale flight delays, mass cancellations or widespread operational disruptions.
  • National security threats: cancellations or disruptions caused by national security threats or similar extraordinary circumstances.

Important note

If your booking is not covered under Namasteudan Flight Protection, we will still guide you through the available options, subject to availability and the applicable airline policies and terms and conditions.Alternative flights are subject to availability. Where you choose a refund, it is returned to the original payment method.
